Trash from recycling bins spilling over and going everywhere. What a mess it makes each and every week.I know it is up to the residents to properly place their bins, etc. at the curb each week, but this is getting crazy !!! Each week more and more pieces of cardboard, bottles, newspaper, etc., are going everywhere. Can the City of Worcester reinforce ways to properly leave the recyclables at the curb ????

What a mess this neighborhood was on Monday !!! Besides being extremely windy, the neighbors up the street, who seem to buy everything in bulk and just lay all the boxes on the ground, let all this mess blow everywhere and all the neighbors below them had to pick up all THEIR trash...Just take a look around the city; this happens every trash day. The only solution to this is covered trash bins and have the DPW go around to see that residents are using the bins properly. How inconsiderate many neighbors are when putting out the trash each week. It's almost as if they want to get rid of the trash by letting it just blow away. I don't know where these people used to live but this is not how we live in this neighborhood. The city of Worcester is just a plain mess now. It was never this way when residents put all their trash in trash bags simply because it was all enclosed. I'm fine with recycling but not with how it's become a trash issue...Get the point ????? Nothing has changed. Start riding around Worcester on Monday and see how many recycling bins have fallen over or the excess paper goods are just laying aside the bins, ready to take flight around the neighborhood, especially on a windy day. This is a city-wide problem. The City Council should put this issue on the table and try to find a solution for it. Never has Worcester looked so dirty as it does now. What can be done ???? Still, the same thing;different week...Homeowners put the trash out then leave for work, not at all caring if the recycle buckets falls over and all the contents spill out. The only solution I see to this problem is the large, covered trash containers. This will probably help keep Worcester alittle bit cleaner. Concerned Pam

This is still a problem as of September 26th. Everywhere you go in Worcester, you see cardboard, milk jugs, newspapers, etc., that have either fallen out of trash bins or left carelessly by the bins. This is an issue for the residents when they put out their recycables. The only real solution I see to this matter are covered trash bins; otherwise the mess will continue. Remember, those strong harsh winds of winter are right around the corner. Concerned Pam

This is still a problem. Just this past Monday, I had my neighbors' pizza boxes from up the street all over my yard. They do not realize that the recycle guys will not pick these up; the boxes belong in the trash bags. I think that maybe the city should re-educate the residents what can and cannot go into the trash bags and recycling bins. Concerned Pam

This is a city-wide problem. I'm not really sure what can be done to stop this except for covered, large trash bins where everything goes into them. Otherwise, this problem will continue be cause so many homeowners, etc. are very careless how they put out their recyclables each week. Concerned Pam

No one has addressed the real problem here. You think the wind blows everything out of bins, not true. It's the people rummaging through the bins that carelessly let everything spill out. (Not saying your neighbors aren't dirty tho).

I watched a, let's call him a gentleman instead of the bum he was, rummage my recycling bin. The aftermath, water bottles and cardboard all over my lawn. These people are the problem.

I do have to agree with your comment. I, also, have a "gentleman", who is quite arrogant. When he goes through my bin, he can leave papers, etc., on the ground and not place them back into the bin, only to blow all around unless I get back outside to "rescue" the items and put them back where they belong. No....Just look around the city...Too many residents do not put their recyclables out properly. My only idea for a solution to this is to have covered bins. Concerned Pam
