Description

Why has line painting and crosswalk painting in Worcester almost all been discontinued ?? It's really awful to have a car coming along on the wrong side of the road because there is no indication to show where the lines should be. This used to be normal maintainance for the DPW in Worcester to do. Even the crosswalks are not maintained. What a shame. Guess it's not in the budget anymore. Concerned Pam

If the DPW really read my issue, they would have seen that I wrote that just about EVERY street in the city needs line and crosswalk painting. Doesn't take much to ride around the city on just about any street and see that there are no lines painted ANYWHERE !!!!!! Concerned Pam

No, now that winter is upon us, I know the DPW can't paint lines on the city's streets, but let's hope that something will be done when spring arrives. Concerned Pasm

Really !!!! Do I need a reminder to say that the lack of street line and cross-walk painting has been resolved ???? I do know it is still winter and this is not the time to do this work, but does anyone really think this work will ever be brought up to snuff in the city of Worcester ??? Aside from the poor maintainence of the city's streets, does anyone ever think we will have wonderfully maintained streets with all the appropriate line painting ??? Oh yeah, it's not 1965 anymore !!! This issue will remain open until the taxpayers of Worcester see this type of work done as it should be. Enough said !!!! Concerned Pam

Well, spring is here and the DPW is starting to sweep the streets from all the winter debris. That's nice and all. But does anyone think that line and crosswalk painting will done after ??? My guess is NO but maybe we'll all be surprised......Let's wait and see.....Concerned Pam

Now that most of the streets in the city have been swept, line painting should resume....But, as always, seeing is believing and I haven't seen any street where there is fresh line painting. So, as always, the answer to the question is, NO, THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED !!! Please, DPW, get this job done throughout the city. Drivers are all over the place because there are no lines to stay within. Looks like this issue will remain open for a long, long time. Concerned Pam

Today is May 8th, and from some of my travels through Worcester, I'm very happy to report that cross-walks and street line painting has begun. Hopefully, the whole city will get a fresh coat of line painting this spring and summer. On this note, I will close this issue with hopes that the DPW will complete this job before school starts again. It was really nice to see this happening. Concerned Pam

As of May 8th, as I have traveled in Worcester, I have seen many crosswalks and streets starting to get a fresh coat of line painting. Please keep this up all spring and summer, before school starts again. Thank you, DPW for this. It is really needed. Concerned Pam
