Just to let you know, my neighbor called the DPW numerous times about this issue and nothing was done; in fact, it seemed to get worse. I know the guys like to get their routes done as quickly as possible, but making a mess in the process isn't really worth it. I'm sure this doesn't happen infront of their homes. Concerned Pam

Things seem to be better for now. Hope it stays that way. It's nice to not have more trash on the street after the trash it picked up than before the workers came to take it away. I will close this issue but all my neighbors and myself will keep watching.....Concerned Pam

I had closed this issue but it seems like we are back to square one. Mondays trash seemed to more on the streets, (like in front of my house) than in the garbage truck. No sooner whenthe truck spilled much of it's contents when compacting the load, that the foxes came out of the woods to start to eat what was all over the street. It seems this happens enough that the wild animals know to go and eat the "leftovers". It's such an easy solution to fix......Make a few more trips to Wheelabrator...Enough said....Concerned Pam

I thought things were okay but I guess I was wrong. Like I wrote, even the foxes come out of the woods after the garbage trucks go by because they know where to get a free meal after the trucks are compacted and the trash bags burst and the contents are strewn all over the streets. Please guys, make a extra few trips down to Wheelabrator and unload the trucks before they are over-stuffed. I know you all want to get your routes done early, ( sorry guys, but everyone in the city knows how your day works,)and rushing the job doesn't make for a clean city......Don't some of you guys live here, too? Guess what ???? Today is Tuesday, January 17th, trash day is one day behind because of yesterday's holiday.... Had my trash bags out at the curb...My husband and I did some cleaning in the house over the long week-end and we had a few bags of old carpet. Our daughter was in the driveway, ready to pull onto the street...The FINE city workers pulled in front of my house to pick up the trash. As they tossed some of the bags into the ALREADY WICKED FULL TRUCK, and they went to compact the bags into the truck, three or four bags flew back out onto the street. In their unbelievable rush to get going, they half-assed picked up the bags that were on the street. One of these FINE CITY WORKERS decided to pick a bag up from they bottom, in turn, spilling all the contents onto the street. In their rush, the driver and the worker left the now empty trash bag and some of the contents on the street and rushed up Mower St. I did immediately call the customer service number, (508-929-1300 ) to report this issue to the DPW. Let's all remember the slogan: HELP KEEP WORCESTER CLEAN !!!. What a joke.. And guess what, THERE WERE WITNESSES !! Concerned Pam ......

Not much has changed with the garbage trucks and their super-sized loads. One week it's pretty good with the trucks; the next, there is trash everywhere after the load is compacted and there is no room left. I guess not too much was said at the monthly meeting !!!! Concerned Pam

It's funny: I have called the Customer Service Center to report trash exploding out of the garbage truck when it was being compacted and NOTHING AT ALL was done. I have reported an incident right when it was happening just a couple of weeks ago and not a thing was done. I ended picking up all the trash that had spilled out onto the street. So why bother giving a telephone number to call and report an issue if nothing will be done about it. Concerned Pam

Things have been pretty good lately in regards to the garbage trucks but I'm not closing this issue because this situation seems to run in cycles. Things will be good for a bit and then the garbage trucks will be stuffed to beyond full and will spill all over the place when the trucks are compacted. Let's hope that it will remain good forever !!!! Concerned Pam

At this time, the garbage trucks aren't over-stuffed when compacted, but that can change at any time. Hopefully, someday, I can close this issue but for now I think it would be best to keep it open. Concerned Pam

I'm going to close this issue, for now, as our city's garbage crew seem to be more conscienous in regards to when they should empty the garbage trucks when full. Hopefully, things will stay this way and so our city will be kept cleaner. Keep up the good work, guys !!Concerned Pam
